Portland to Ban Smoking in Government-Owned Golf Courses

Oregon golfers are about to get healthier. Portland’s local government is considering banning smoking at all city-owned golf courses. Once Portland’s golf-smoking ban takes effect, analysts and observers said that the rest may follow suit.

Portland Golf Manager John Zoller said that once the local government passes the new ordinance, the rest of Oregon’s cities may follow suit.

Parks and park properties may also be affected by the smoking ban.
