Train Your Takeaway

Setup

Lay a tour stick on the ground parallel to your target line. Take your setup so that your hands are underneath your shoulders and directly above the tour stick.

Takeaway

As you turn the club back, your hands should stay above the tour stick. This leads to an on-plane backswing.

Incorrect

If your hands work too much out or too much in, you will have trouble making a good backswing.

What a great tip. This will help prevent ” chicken wing ” swing paths. It works for me.

I find your tips very useful.Putting them to practice is usually a long time process. Of course practice makes a man perfect.
I would appreciate if you can provide some tips for finishing the swing since I for one just can not complete it the way good golfers do.
    Thank you.

    Hi Shawn,
When I start the club back, my hands are on a slight arc, on your tip on full swing, you have your hands following the line of the tour stick is this going to be alright?
