9 Iron Bunker Shot

Long Bunker Shot

Selecting the right club for your bunker shot requires some thought, especially if you have to carry the ball a long distance.

Club Selection

On long bunker shots, use a 9 iron with your normal bunker swing to carry the ball further than you could with a traditional wedge.

The Result

The ball will travel ¾ of the way there and run out a bit on the green. You won’t have to swing as hard to get the ball to travel.

    Bunker.
    Using 9 iron in bunker.
Is the 9 iron opened as per usual bunker play, or is it like a pitch shot?
    Your video is confusing.
